Yet the key to harmonious appreciation are highly-trained bartenders who can correctly select a drink to accompany a cigar and recommend what best suits your mood.
Historically, whisky is one of the most loved drinks in the West. Still, there are more and more whisky connoisseurs in Russia with each passing year. This is only natural. Back in the 16th century it was noted of the «water of life» (this is how the original word «usique» translates from the Old Celtic language): «It sloeth age, it strengtheneth youth, it helpeth digestion, it cutteth fleume, it abandoneth melancholy, it relisheth the hart, it lighteneth the mind, it quickeneth the spirites... truly it is a souveraigne liquor, if it be orderly taken» (Raphael Holinshed, «History of Ireland», 1577).
Even though this laudatory quote is over five centuries old, anybody who takes but a sip of original Scotch or Irish whisky today cannot help but agree.
